Is this an existential crisis??

We're going to be seeing porn where all the characters are computer generated, and realistic looking.

That's going to be weird.

After the porn guys provide the dough to develop that, you can expect spin offs, like i-girlfriend, i-shrinks, maybe even i-doctors.

Actually, the smart program that would handle the diagnostic routines has been around for a few years. I think Docs find them intimidating, so they don't use them. But it does open up a lot of possibilities for getting good medical advice at a reduced cost.

I can't believe it took me this long to think of it, AI has been a serious limitation in video games. You're going to need a hell of a computer, but this will eventually take games to the next level. Of course, I also said that about VR.

Oh well.

Yes, the Turing test.

This is another step down the road of computers replacing people. It's not a big step, perhaps it simply raises the specter of an existential crisis, a foreshadowing of things to come.

Still weird.

I've often wondered how long it will be until almost all videos exclusively feature computer generated characters.  If the PR unit of Disney, Sony, etc. can make realistic looking "cartoons" then why pay a top actor $25 million per picture plus the amenities, stunt doubles, etc.?

You would be able to make new movies with young Shirley Temple, Errol Flynn, Sean Connery, Marilyn Monroe, etc.

Add in the mechanical or computer doubles of many other jobs and the need for human work greatly diminishes.

Finland has already greatly reduced its standard work week.  Unless the rest of the world does it - and provides 40 hr pay for 25 hour jobs, there will be riots all around the world by the 50% unemployed.  Of course, if we do it and China continues 12 hr workdays, 6 days/week, it will be hard to be economically competitive.  It's going to be a hard problem to solve.

Why you raising the bar so high for AI Porn Stars?

I doubt most real life porn stars would be identified a human in a Turing test.
