maddmaxx Posted February 11, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 11, 2020 I just got a "suspicious activity" call about my Apple I Card. Is there really an Apple I Card?
donkpow Posted February 11, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 11, 2020 I receive warnings that the extended warranty on my automobile is about to expire and I need to renew to prevent a price increase. I don't own an automobile.
maddmaxx Posted February 11, 2020 Author Share #3 Posted February 11, 2020 It's probably pretty cheap for you to extend the warranty then.

bikeman564™ Posted February 11, 2020 Share #6 Posted February 11, 2020 I've been called notifying me that my Apple account was compromised or some such thing. I don't own apple products, never have.

My mother fell for one. Gave away credit card info, personal info etc. It took a long time to sort it out. I get calls all the time from Visa about numerous charges made to my card overnight. I ask "Which bank is the card associated with?' That ends in them hanging up.

I hope it was just a recording because I really did laugh out loud as I disconnected. i normally don’t answer the phone unless I know who is calling but I have so many medical people calling me these days from all kind of locations that I need to answer the phone to find out. Or just lose it when you could not remember where you parked at the mall?

Allen Posted February 11, 2020 Share #11 Posted February 11, 2020 I cussed one as a thief yesterday. He started quite angrily saying I was going to be arrested if I did not buy the IRS a gift card.

I don't need to worry about that as I don't respond to the fed until the subpoenas fly.

Mr. Silly Posted February 11, 2020 Share #15 Posted February 11, 2020 These guy have fun with the scammers. Ira Glass did a This American Life segment on them. They'll say they have the money and are ready to pay but to get it they have to meet up somewhere inconvenient and make them hold signs that say embarrassing things.

MickinMD Posted February 11, 2020 Share #19 Posted February 11, 2020 The most frequent call I get is a notification of problems "with your Visa, Discover, American Express, or Mastercard." I guess they figure if you're stupid enough to fall for it, you'll also fall for one that vague.
