The right stuff

I have a nice outside door between my living room and the 3 season sun porch which is not heated this time of the year.  Given time the cats discovered the door frame and the door seal and managed to rip out a chunk on each side of the door.  Over the last couple of years I've managed to keep ahead of the cold air by using some self stick foam insulating strips to plug the gaps.  Last week however I discovered that the house had flexed enough this winter to uncover a gap in the temporary seal.  This is an energy hog situation.  I finally broke down and bought the proper replacement seal for the door, the kind that slips into a grove in the door frame and has large flexible rubber seals to seat against the door.

The moral of the story home mechanics.........don't redneck the job, get the right stuff.
