MoseySusan Posted July 10, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 10, 2014 <Looking for the barfing emoticon...> No. Calvin and Hobbes are forever immortalized sliding toward the next adventure. There are no moments such as these, and thankfully so. That's about the schlockiest scene I've had the displeasure of reading.

Destination Posted July 10, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 10, 2014 I've seen a few versions of the story where Calvin grows up. I like to think the writers and artists are trying to pay tribute to the talent of Bill Watterson. But there's a reason the comic series ended where it did. The artists and writers would do better to create their own characters and story lines rather than extend something the original artist did not wish to continue.
MoseySusan Posted July 10, 2014 Share #6 Posted July 10, 2014 Thank you, D. My sentiments exactly and (as always) more diplomatically expressed.
TrentonMakes Posted July 10, 2014 Share #7 Posted July 10, 2014 I presume the recent (and excellent) Bill Watterson contribution to Pearls Before Swine was discussed here.... I'd like more C&H stories like that instead.

TrentonMakes Posted July 10, 2014 Share #9 Posted July 10, 2014 Pearls creator Stephan Pastis tells the story in this blog post: http://squarewheelscycling.com/index.php?
TrentonMakes Posted July 10, 2014 Share #10 Posted July 10, 2014 I tried to link the strips themselves, but the software slapped my hand. They're all linked in the blog. The whole thing rates a 9.5 on the Awesome Scale.
