Is Alberto's whatever...dunno the brand. But is sweet AF IMO. These pics are from Strava. Those lightweight wheels is sexy.

Wouldn't that be nicer if it was 20 lbs heavier?  Looks like that dopey thing can be lifted with a single finger!  Where is the "cool" in that? Only a pro racer should care about weight and Alberto ain't no pro racer.

Yeah, he can, so maybe it is all about prioritization of folks money? If they want $10 spoke nipples, then who are we to judge?

Phil Gaimon wrote about his custom paint last year when he went to a new bike sponsor - Nove and I sort of like it, but don't love it.  Same with AC's zebra.  I'm more a solid color or a fade person.

...but there are some fun paint jobs on the Allez line these days.  The past few years, they have rolled out a wide variety of stuff.  I've tried to come up with cool "ProjectOne" schemas but fail miserably.  I'm not good with that sort of design talent.

What shape is it?  Oval?  Isn't a hollow cylinder the strongest thing?  But then there are I-beams.

The CAAD 10 frame is hydro-formed w/ 6069 aluminum. So funky shapes are doable. I imagine the engineers know what they're doing :D

Top tube, like every tube on the bike is not one continuous shape. Near the head tube it's square, then tapers to a slightly wider oval at the seat tube.

The only "round" tube is the upper half of the seat tube, which then thins down to a delta shape.

MadCity had several of his bikes custom painted...a cow print..I think universe/star/space on one...can't recall all of them...think they were done by some guy in Texas...

Dave Sims.  I have actually seen those bikes up close.  Pieces of art.

I doubt that's paint.  I would bet it's a vinyl wrap.    I found out the the KOM bikes for the tour were just white bikes with vinyl polka dots.  This caused me some distress.

I have never seen those bars before, just the wheels.

I like to see the bikes, component & wheel choices former pros make when not beholden to team sponsors.  That’s a pretty rad bike and AC still looks like he can fly on that rig.

Agree. I know some, probably most, ride what they did professionally. Reading up on AC's bike brand, it's in partnership w/ Trek. I follow Ted King on Strava and his podcast; he's still loyal to Cannondale.

I walked into the LBS this morning to pick up my bike. He lets us store them upstairs in between trainer sessions if we don’t think we will get outside. I also needed some new taars.
As I walked in, the owner and another guy asked what size bike I ride. I said generally 52-54 depending on the bike. They said they had a sweet deal for me. Told them I can’t right now. When I came back down with my bike, they were holding a Cervelo S5 from a few years ago in immaculate condition. The price was killer, but I would like to stay married for a while longer!
