I don't know how the East Coasters do it

I am currently 1 time zone over (MST) and it's killing me. I'm visiting my snowbird brother & SIL in Arizona. I'm used to Best Coast time. All my shows are on at the wrong time. I'm going to baseball games at the wrong time. Typical college baseball start time is 1:00 pm. wtf...I have to wait around to 2:00 pm??? It's agony. I don't think I could move a couple more time zones over

#humble brag?

I think the TV show times, etc. balance out as to which time zone it's best to watch them.  On the East Coast, 1 pm seems like a great time for an NFL game to start: 10 am on the West Coast seems too early.

A few times per year, I used to drive between Baltimore and Chicago when I was in grad school at IIT, but I was so used to both places I didn't notice much difference except Baltimore's summer humidity and Chicago's winter cold.

Personally, changing time zones - and I mean like 6 hours (Paris) to 12 hours (China), mostly has affected me when traveling East to West, though maybe the excitement of starting on the East Coast then landing in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa offset the jet lag for me and it hit me returning home.  Going from Baltimore to China, we landed in Shanghai around 9 pm at night (9 am in Baltimore), were escorted from the airport to our hotel, and because of the exhaustion of flying from Baltimore to Detroit to Tokyo to Shanghai over about 20 hours, we went to sleep before eating, sightseeing, etc. so that might have been a great way to minimize jet lag. Also, the 12 hour time difference meant it didn't matter if we got there traveling West or East - when we reached Chongqing I was 180 degrees of longitude away from my home!  When people ask what's the farthest place I've traveled to, I point down into the ground and slightly north and say, "There!"

I have no idea how you watch football on Sunday mornings.

I guess it’s a matter of what you are used to. I generally go to bed early and would not stay up until 11 pm to watch Sun/Mon/Thurs night football, World Series or NBA finals.

Agreed though 10 AM is early for football but I rarely watch the 10 AM games unless the Rams are playing an East Coast team away.

It works the other way around to. When I worked for Charles Schwab in Phoenix - that never went on daylight savings tome so half year same as California. With the stock market opening at 9:30, I had to arrive at the office a 5:30AM, eat some breakfast at the desk while I set up (solo) for the day, opening the office at 6AM with the stock market opening bell at 6:30AM. I still remember a lady with 2 toddlers in tow waiting at the door when I unlocked it at 6AM.  Other staff straggled in around 6:30 or 7. Of course, the market closed at 1:30 and I was out of there. Had no trouble getting cheap rates at the golf course as they were deserted at 2PM with temps over 100F.

It’s not easy out here where the sun rises at 6:30 am (3:30 am for you). I deal with the disruption by not watching television. Preparing the draft horses for plowing takes two hours and then we has to water the chickens or they don’t poop eggs for breakfast regularly. I tell you brother, life isn’t easy out here on the east coast.
