I find if I do that, I remember, so it is unnecessary. If I don't do that, I forget where I parked and regret not doing it.

I have been doing that more.

Can't be aging. I'm blaming  thinking bigger-than-ever parking garages and not entering the deck from the same place I left it.

If I use Google maps to get somewhere, I think it will "save" my end location??? I feel like it used to do that, but can't remember if it has reminded me lately.

I try to remember to do that at the airport or any big lot.  You've got enough other stuff on your mind.
