Popular Post sheep_herder ★ Posted February 21, 2020 Popular Post Share #1 Posted February 21, 2020 Brought her in yesterday, as it was cold and her mom did not seem to be taking care of her. I watched her closely, and when she tried to nurse from one of the other lambs, I knew it was time to bring her into the house. She readily took a bottle and slept near my feet in the computer room. I fed her though the night and during the day when I was going to check for lambs. She has really responded to being inside and getting milk replacer from a bottle. This morning she began to chase Lad around the house and followed him outside when my wife let him out the back door. I fed her a bottle before I started the late afternoon feeding, and when I returned, she was asleep at my wife's feet next to Lad. My wife told me that Lad decided to get on the couch, and the lamb hopped up to be with him. She will probably go to her new home tomorrow, but tonight might be interesting for Lad and his helpers (us). That is all!! 7

For the last several years we have sold all of our bottle lambs to a lady that lives in the Pine Hills east of town. Trying to take care of all the bottle lambs and take good care of the main flock and their lambs just became too much for these two old people. We needed to sleep sometime. She has been building a flock with the ewe lambs and a few of the ram lambs. Here is a photo that I shared last year of some of the bottle lambs at her house. She and her son and granddaughter take very good care of the little ones. 3

sheep_herder ★ Posted February 22, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted February 22, 2020 She was asleep on the couch when my wife came in to watch Jeopardy. Now she is in my wife's lap. She will head for her new home at 11:30pm tonight when the fellow gets off work. I think he will really like this one. 1
