Allen Posted February 21, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2020 I bought a plot that abuts the family land. Now I live in the house I was born in and my house sits empty. Instead of renting it, I’m going to turn it into a woodworking shop with my brother. 2

I will trade in my Hyandai Sonata for down payment. 1 1

When you turn it into a woodworking shop, be sure to do so in a way where it would be easy to convert it back to a regular house you can sell or rent. After our last parent died, my brother, sister, and I thought about renting out or selling our parents' house but, through indecision, it sat vacant for a couple years. Then I retired a couple years earlier than I originally planned and decided to downsize, selling my mortgage-free house and buying my siblings interests out of our parents house. For some reason none of us had considered that when mom died and it was luck that we still owned our childhood home when I decided to move in.
