Popular Post bikeman564™ Posted February 23, 2020 Popular Post Share #1 Posted February 23, 2020 Michigan's Alexey Vermeulen. He was at a LBS (to him, hour from me) to chat aboot his career and what he's doing now. Keep in mind, he's only 25 He raced on the world tour for BMC and Lotto Jumbo before quitting road racing. He raced Tour of California and other European tours. He now focuses on MTB racing. He has sponsors but can do more of what he wants. He still rides Bianchi (wish is a carry over from Lotto Jumbo), and his MTB & new road bike was there...sweet bikes. Last November he one the Iceman Cometh in northern MI, and just finished 24 hours of Pueblo. His future races will be events like: Dirty Kanza, Leadville, Belgium Waffle Ride, etc. I asked if he has a TT bike, and he does, and still loves doing them. I mentioned the bike club I'm with and that we're taking over a TT in the spring. He wants to do it but will be oot of town. I thought that was cool. Now I've met two pro's, him and Frankie I've been following Alexey on Strava, and recently became friends w/ him on FB (we have other mutual friends). So as not to be creepy, I met him It was fun, and I got a Lotto Jumbo water bottle to add to my collection. We chatted for a few, and he lives (w/ his parents) on a lake that my life-long friend's parents have a cottage on. I've been going there since I was a kid. Anywho, really cool dude that like to ride bikes. Just a little faster than most of us 10
