Ralphie ★ Posted February 29, 2020 Author Share #2 Posted February 29, 2020 Ernie Isley reminds me of Larry David's boarder.
Longjohn ★ Posted February 29, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 29, 2020 The Isleys around here all went out of business. Some of the delis still sell Isley’s chip chop ham. i don’t know how widespread Isleys stores were. Around here they were everywhere, sometimes within sight of each other. Home of the Sky Scraper ice cream cone. Their headquarters in Youngstown was already boarded up when I drove truck in the eighties but the individual stores were still open. I don’t know how that worked. Maybe the corporation went out of business and allowed the stores to use the name if they wanted to.

Ralphie ★ Posted February 29, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted February 29, 2020 I loved our hometown Isaly's! For some reason my buddy thought it was fun to buy deli pickles and then throw them in pickup truck beds. He was a bad influence on me. It disappeared a while ago.
