Very close to a honey do. You have to remove a lot near the rind, but it’s snot easy to tell like wit’ a watermelon. Just aboot an eighth to a quarter inch. Tasty!  Right between honey do and can’t elope.

...I don't know where they grew that one, but the Canary melons here come pretty late in the season, so next August or September.

The former Wing Chong Market (835 Cannery Row): Today’s Kristonio’s was once a local market that informed Steinbeck’s depiction of Lee Chong’s Heavenly Flower Grocery, where characters from the novel bought and bargained for supplies.

and the Capt Trips portions of another book....
