Spurred in part by your car issues I checked my oil this weekend.... down a quart. At 86K miles it's the first time I've had to add oil between changes. 

Guess "my new car", which had some time ago become simply "my car", is now "my old car".

Got a ways to go before it's at the level of my first car. That old Malibu used a quart every 80 miles or so.

It was an expensive lesson  -- though it was the catalyst we needed to move into something else.
