2Far ★ Posted July 13, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 13, 2014 Two guys stringing welding leads (think XXXL extension cords) up a 200 ft tall tower. Guy on top loses control of his end & it pendulums down & strikes lower guy on arm & head. Conscious, but in a lotta pain. We have to use the crane & rescue basket to fly him down. Ambulance to the hospital. I get to make the call to his spouse. CAT scan, MRI, multiple X-rays, morphine. I get to meet his wife & his mother, coupla cool ladies. He's OK. I just walked back into my room. I earned my money today.
Square Wheels Posted July 13, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 13, 2014 What do you do for work? It doesn't sound safe. As a comparison is riding a bike with Bosox and / or RR more or less safe than your job?
LoneWolf Posted July 13, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 13, 2014 Sorry to hear that, 2Far. I hope your one guy heals up soon without incident. As I don't know much about this process, is there something that helps the two guys keep hold of the leads beyond just holding it in their hands? Just curious. Pokey Posted July 13, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2014 Frightening thing...being up on a tower...nowhere to run/duck when something bad happens. Good that guy number 2 is going to be alright.
Parr8hed Posted July 13, 2014 Share #6 Posted July 13, 2014 That really sucks. I bet the guy that was on top and lost control feels like absolute crap.

Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted July 13, 2014 Share #8 Posted July 13, 2014 What happens tomorrow? Guy #2 goes up the tower first ahead of Guy #1, the one who dropped his leads. Guy #2 gets to bring Jarts and bricks up the tower.

Jarts and bricks is something of a load. Guy #2 could save himself the work and just spit.
jsharr ★ Posted July 14, 2014 Share #10 Posted July 14, 2014 Sounds like it was not the guys time to me. That could have been a lot worse. What will happen when #1 and #2 get back to work? Will they still be a team or will they work on opposite sides of the site?
