Digital_photog ★ Posted March 7, 2020 Author Share #6 Posted March 7, 2020 Just so you people know first....well not quite first. several mushers already know. Part of this trip is to check out several properties I am considering buying. Looking at small cabins with some acreage that connects to the trails and seasonal roads in Hiawatha National Forest. Hope to have a place at the eastern side of Hiawatha NF by next winter.
Digital_photog ★ Posted March 7, 2020 Author Share #7 Posted March 7, 2020 If you want any input into what kind of cabin I get you better come along. I do expect to have it available to friends when I'm not using it. There may even be room for friends when I am there. @smudgeis a little further west but we may even be able to visit the famous she shed.

team scooter Posted March 7, 2020 Share #10 Posted March 7, 2020 Loves me the Upper Peninsula. But other than riding through on snowmobiles, I'm not very familiar with that area. Half of our snowmobile club group bought second homes/retirement homes/property in the Lake Gogebic/Watersmeet areas. Including us. The other half bought places near the Munising/Wetmore area. Most of us kept them for 15/20 years then sold them. A few got places in warmer climates. We're down to traveling UP 6 or 7 times per year, usually on the same long weekends every year. So we've learned to reserve our favorite rental cabin months in advance, instead of owning and maintaining a place UP there.
