....but it didn't keep him from sitting in my draft for 20 minutes.  And the swinging past me - without a word - on the long steady downhill section. :whistle: C'est la vie.

Weather is getting nicer. That's a pretty quiet section, but definitely people were out for the nicer temps.

That guy doesn't look like a professional cyclist like you and me. You probably could have walked away from him. Shift up a gear and increase your cadence. I got the impression he was riding at the same speed as you but didn't want to get into a slug fest. Besides, he seems only equipped for raw power.

He fit the standard "good on flats and descents" model.  I never drop folks on descents unless their twisty off a mountain and I know the road, otherwise, my size is just not gonna give me any advantages over the more meaty types.  A good part of his time drafting me was an incline into the wind. As soon as we hit the nicest prolonged downhill on the ride, he took the lead.
