Georgia's largest school district has confirmed that around 260 employees have either tested positive for Covid-19 or have been exposed.

What a "hype" headline that neither tells us anything nor makes me feel like the reporting is very good. :(

I wonder which worries folks more: one person positive and 259 exposed but never getting sick. Or all 260 positive? Or some mix?  Seriously, without proper contact tracing, I imagine the story could be more "around 260 million people have either tested positive for Covid-19 or have been exposed."

What do you think the numbers will look like after school reopens.

“Wow, impressive.” That so many are willing to leave their families for potentially so long to safely facilitate these playoffs.

Gotta think your average NHL player makes more money than your average NASA ISS occupant, though :D

Yes. Although playoffs is not contract-paid. Their contracts are for regular season games, not playoffs. Some bonuses for winning rounds, but not huge money, especially in professional sports terms. That said, this money will help the owners pay salaries for next season, so it's helping their collective bargining agreement stay afloat, which is good for everyone, long term.

Two weeks later and "only" 21 new deaths which seems to be an improvement over my last check-in.

About three weeks later, +1,600 cases, +2,000 hospitalizations, and +26 dead:

...and the trend line looks not as sharp as in the run up to NYC's fight.  Second wave or just continued first hitting some places later?
