HAHA, Sox!  Actually, grip shift makes a ton of sense on a fat bike.  This bike is often rode in the snow with big thick gloves on.  Try and operate rapid fire with big 'ol mitts.  Oh wait....that's right....a sissy pants like you can't handle the cold.  ;)

I use grip shifts on my commuter. I liked that style when I switched to trekking bars. :P

 

This bike came equipped with grip shift  I left it on there, because of the mitten thing.  I will need that come winter time.  It works really well with bar mitts too.

See, Dual Control makes sense.  Wish they didn't do aways with them, I love mine
