Kirby Posted March 29, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 29, 2020 Good for them. I definitely have a good opinion of companies who have pitched in to help deal with shortages.

MickinMD ★ Posted March 29, 2020 Share #4 Posted March 29, 2020 The only pair of shoes that escaped my house fire were the ones on my feet as I went out the door: I've since got a cheap pair of white sneakers with Velcro snaps and a pair of dress shoes, but am waiting until I'm in my newly-built house to load up on shoes.

The_Karen_Cooper_Incident Posted March 29, 2020 Share #21 Posted March 29, 2020 Over the years I've tried to purchase as many clothes made in the US, Japan and Canada. Mostly because the quality is better but I wanted to support the US, Canada and Japan. I'm currently wearing jeans from Canada. The name of the company is Naked and Famous. Obviously you got a deal from this Montreal firm or something. I do remember before free trade..there was the garment manufacturing district in Toronto..where one could buy well constructed, quality and tailored winter coats for decent prices. Same for business suits. Now, yes, of course it's China, or it's Sri Lanka, etc. That whole industry in Metro Toronto was completely decimated by early 1990's. Of course, that was the time real fur coat sales was falling off...

They are located in Montreal. The denim they use is from Japan. They make jeans for women too. The jeans tend to last a long time if you take good care of them. I also buy from companies out of LA. Some of the denim was made in the states but the manufacturing died off mostly because of Levis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cone_Mills_Corporation When Levis dropped out and started producing in other countries, the whole industry fell apart locally in the US. MoseySusan Posted March 29, 2020 Share #25 Posted March 29, 2020 Big respect to both companies! NB shoes come in extra wide widths, so they're the only brand #2 son wears.
