I have not read the previous books in this series, but having been introduced to the character, and the way the author weaves a tale through actual historical events, I will certainly attempt to lay my hands on them. The book is a tale of how one man, a lawyer with no particular devotion to one side or the other during the uprisings after the death of Henry VIII gets involuntarily caught up in Kett's rebellion at Norwich in 1549. He had gone to Norwich at the behest of Lady Elizabeth to find the truth about the murder of the estranged wife of her distant relative, John Boleyn. A murder for which Boleyn has been charged and faces trial. He ends up in Kett's camp, advising him on legal matters, and is there for the battles which follow. If you know your British history, you will know how Kett's rebellion ended, but this book brings the events to life vividly. Definitely on my recommenced list.
