team scooter Posted April 5, 2020 Share #9 Posted April 5, 2020 Our granddaughter is making masks too. She borrowed my wife's sewing machine Friday. She works at a fabric store and gets fabric scraps free. Shes giving them away to family, friends and store customers.

Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted April 5, 2020 Share #11 Posted April 5, 2020 Wo7 is making masks also. She is using batik fabric due to its tighter weave and covering with decorative fabrics.

She thought it might have some filtration properties We used 2 layers of tight woven cotton. The pattern we used came from a large local hospital. We saw a lot of patterns online but thought theirs looked about as easy to make as any and if it is what they recommend we would go with it.. They did she it with elastic to go over the ears but said it could be made with ties. No elastic was available anywhere here so we used ribbon and paracord. ties. I saw one organization was asking for ties because wearing elastic all day was getting very irritating behind the ears.

I made #2 son’s with a strip of t-shirt material pulled into a stretchy tube and straps that fit around his head because he cannot wear elastic around his ears.
