Rattlecan ★ Posted April 5, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2020 Quarantined! My buddy messaged me a while ago to say he has all the symptoms and has it bad. 69 years old, physically fit, but this has knocked him on his butt. I last had contact a week and a half ago when I went to borrow some tools. We kept our distance, and I sanitized and everything, but we are isolating completely until at least two weeks has passed. My step daughter (the paramedic) said he needs to get to the hospital now, but he seems to be resisting that. 8

BuffJim Posted April 5, 2020 Share #7 Posted April 5, 2020 BuffCarla just found out today that her cousin died of it today😢😢😢. And two other relatives have it. Our region’s pandemic rate is about 1 in a thousand have it, and about 2.5% of those will die.

We were at a funeral in December, but he was just another face in the crowd. I’m guessing he was in his 70s.
Kirby Posted April 5, 2020 Share #12 Posted April 5, 2020 So sorry to hear about BuffCarla's relatives, Jim. RC, Good for being cautious and quarantining to be safe, but I hope it's just an abundance of caution. 1

Rattlecan ★ Posted April 6, 2020 Author Share #16 Posted April 6, 2020 I just spoke with him. He is feeling vastly improved this morning, although he still has shortness of breath. So far, his wife has not shown symptoms. She is several years older that he is so really hoping she does not catch it.

Rattlecan ★ Posted April 9, 2020 Author Share #19 Posted April 9, 2020 Just spoke with him. He had a bad night. If things don't improve today, he is heading to the ER On the plus side, it is two weeks since we had contact and all is well here.

Rattlecan ★ Posted May 13, 2020 Author Share #21 Posted May 13, 2020 Well, just when we thought he was over it, this thing came back and took another kick at him. I had not checked on him in a couple of days, and I find out he spent 8 hours in the hospital yesterday. Serious bouts of coughing and back pain. A CT scan showed some clotting in the lungs, so he was given some blood thinners for that. He finally got swabbed for a test, but the doctors are pretty sure it is Covid. His 69th birthday was last week.
