MickinMD ★ Posted April 8, 2020 Share #7 Posted April 8, 2020 My brother had a German Shepherd about 20 years ago who would literally shake when there was thunder. Jake doesn't like it, but doesn't get bent out of shape over it.
team scooter Posted April 8, 2020 Share #8 Posted April 8, 2020 Nena and Scooter used to love watching thunderstorms from the window. Then as they got older, a switch got flipped and they were terrified, especially the Scoot. Yesterday we had a bad storm that just missed us to the south, but we still heard and saw the heavy thunder and lighting. It was bad enough to unplug the appliances that didn't have surge protectors. Maggie barked when thunder rattled the house, but she's not terrified, not yet.

Yep - it is tough on many dogs, my pup included If mine has a bad night, I have a bad night too. We often have to retreat to our guest bathroom, turn on the exhaust fan, and even run a little cold water to cover the sound of the storm. No fun, but about all that she is able to do in bad storms. He didn’t enjoy his bath and it took a lot of coaxing to get him in the tub but he evidently thought that was the safest place to hide from the thunder boomers.
