The doc called yesterday with the results of the X rays I had taken last week.
Basically, my right hip is done, and will need a replacement. The left side has some minor arthritis, but should be ok for years.
Next step is referral to a specialist. He told me not to hold my breath. Probably won't hear anything til next year.
Meanwhile, he says just take whatever over the counter pain meds will help me sleep.
Mine told me:
Lose weight
Smooth exercise, no running
Ibuprofen is my friend
Anecdotally:
Move Free It will take a month to start to feel relief. It's magic stuff. I have had virtually no hip degradation in the 8 years I've been taking it.
Don't wait.
My replacement doc told me "NO RUNNING" (emphasis his)
Expect +20 year life.
