As you all may know I am involved with Scouting and both my sons are or were. Our youngest son turns 18 at the end of August so he had to get to Life rank by end of this month in order to even have a chance to earn his Eagle Scout rank. We spent this weekend finishing up his last requirements. Saturday morning we spent two hours cleaning the banks of the Trinity River for a local park. The ranks are Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle.
The first four are earned by learning and practicing scouting skills and doing some volunteering or service. Once a Scout has earned the rank of First Class he can really consider himself a Scout with all the requisite knowledge and experience.
