At our home.
If the clouds don't block out the sun, we will see 92% of the sun go dark.

Apparently your government doesn't want us to move there. The foreign ownership ban was extended 2 more years.

I think I've seen a bat once in the wild. I've seen frogs and toads..when I was a teen.
I've seen flying and sleeping bats more often at my old home.
And how could I forget the many frogs we have around our pond. They talk to each other all night long each summer. @Kirby would like our pond. When it is raining they explore the area around the house. They sure can jump a long distance.

We hiked at more then a few places. The wildlife encounters that I remember the most...
While hiking in the area near Whistler BC, we encounter bears. A mother and 2 cubs. We turned around and got out there before anything bad happened.
Hiking in Denali National Park we encountered caribou in Denali National Park.
A trail that was south of Anchorage, we saw a stream of water that was FULL of salmon swimming up stream. On that same trail we saw a young bald eagle roosting on a tree branch about 15 feet above the ground that was maybe 20 feet from us, and it just sat there watching us walk by.
Wildlife that we have seen near our home. Coyote, deer, wild turkeys, possum, owls, stuff in or near our pond, geese, great egret, blue heron. ducks, and a few times a river otter.

We had that for most of last week. The river here just got below flood stage today.
It will rain again tomorrow.

he is supposed to be seven months old, he weighs 110, so I’m guessing one of big ones. Mellow as can be, but when he pulls on the leash you better be ready.
Soon Lucky will weigh more. That's a great name....
We had a 126 pound dog. Sam was a Great Dane / German Shepard mix that we rescued. The first thing I taught the dog was to 'come back' when I called. That was useful, a lot.
When Sam would see a squirrel during our dog walks he wanted to chase the squirrel. I could control Sam on the leash. WoBG asked what should I do when walking Sam and he sees a squirrel? I told her to drop the leash and let him run, he would just drag you and/or you could break your arm. Then call for him to come back. That was WoBG's plan and it was used more than a few times. Sam was a 126 pound puppy for most of his life.

Who needs a switch when the printer connects to an outlet at the wall.
The problem with that... my ink jet printer needs to park the printheads properly so they don't dry out. It need to powered down via being turned off.
If you just unplug it the printheads may or may not have been parked properly.

Examples of things that make people (probably especially old ones) grouchy
Thursday I go on line and order a refill for WoBG on the Walgreens web site. I get that done and then go and double check to be 100% sure everything is OK. Nope... the Walgreens where the pill will be ready is in Streator IL which is 16 miles south of where we live in Ottawa, IL. I try to change the store for the pickup to Ottawa. The website tells me Ottawa can't fill that prescription. They filled it the last time.
Friday we stop at the Ottawa Walgreens, after out dog walk. We are told they can fill the prescription in 20 minutes. We say... OK, we will be back tomorrow. No explanation about why the website could not change the pickup location.
Today we stop at the Ottawa Walgreens, after out dog walk. We are told they can't fill the prescription until tomorrow. Some BS about they were waiting for a delivery. etc.. . I explain... "Yesterday we were told the prescription would be ready today." THEN we are told, they could fill the prescription if 5 minutes. WTF. So we told the clerk... OK we will wait.
People and/or websites that don't do their jobs... make me grouchy.
I told WoBG... the next time we need to fill the prescription and it will be ready at the Walgreens in Streator, it would have been quicker and less stressful to just drive there.

Yeah... my printer had a place to touch, not even a button, to turn it on and off.
It takes a few tries to get it turned off.

It really is a case where the early adopters have been replaced by the normal folks who can swing a new EV as their primary, secondary, and maybe even third car.
It looks like our county has 108,123 cars, trucks, etc... https://www.ilsos.gov/departments/vehicles/statistics/lpcountycounts/COUNTY050.PDF
And we have 91 EVs registered here in LaSalle County https://www.ilsos.gov/departments/vehicles/statistics/electric/2022/electric011522.pdf
