I agree. It works like a 1 bedroom. It's decent. 470 is pretty good. It forces you to be tight with your stuff and organization helps. I just read an interior design book on small spaces. Maybe I'll be inspired. The mgr seems nice. She said I could have a garden plot and a key to the hose. I'm closer to the mt bikes trails, just a couple blocks to the NF boundary.

There is no door on the bedroom so they call it a studio.

I think I'd get in trouble for that.
  4. These people were nutso. The parents fought constantly. It was loud. They ended getting divorced and the husband got arrested for sexually assaulting his patients. He was a dentist and he'd give them meds and feel them up. Totally creepy. They had a pool. I bought a kiddy pool and would sit in it and drink beer with my friends. We'd peel the labels off the bottles, soak them and throw them at the side of his house and they'd stick. I'm not sure why my parents put up with me, but damn that was funny as fuck when you are 19.

I found a place. I gave them some money. She said I could move in at the end of April. I lived there a few years ago. It's okay. Small, 470 sq. ft. studio. I'll have to keep my bikes inside. They have a garden so I can plant some things.
  6. Growing up, my neighbor had a Pacer. They'd give me a ride to school sometimes. It always smelled like Fruit Loops. Never did like those neighbors.
  7. You should live here. They don't salt the roads. The motto is it's Wyoming, deal with it.
  8. 2-4cm? Does that even count?
  9. I had one of those. It didn't do very well. Now I have an Aerogarden. It does much better. I've grown herbs, lettuce, and tomatoes. Right now I have parsley and romaine growing in it. I have a separate basil plant and some spinach.

It's too late. I did have that option, but it's a lot of money.

It's possible, but hard to find. You get bounced, landlords raise the rent beyond your means. If I find a place, my rent will more than double. I'm on waiting lists all over town and with both housing organizations. I have to turn in my volunteer hours with one org which could improve my chances.

I'm very nice to the people doing the lotteries. My understanding is those happen at the county attorney's office. I lost it with the leasing agent at my current place. I doubt there will be any more lotteries in the near future. Maybe. They don't give you much notice, usually two weeks. I've moved four times in seven years. This last place was nice. I had a four year run. I'd stay if I could.

Don't. It's comical. I will say housing insecurity really sucks. You are at the mercy of landlords. They make up arbitrary rules and yank you around.

One. I email them daily. I got bounced from my current apt because of my income. I'm trying to find a new apt. It is not easy. You apply and they conduct a lottery or weighted drawing. My luck sucks. The person who beat me today has been here six months. End of April.

One of my co-workers pointed out I'm actually 0 for 8 since I was rejected by current residence last week. I had not counted that one. I did convince them to refund my application fee since they asked me to apply for a unit they would not let me move into. It helps to throw a fit.

In housing drawings. I was rejected again today.
  17. I don't have the answers but I do have a sex life. It's fun, you should give that a whirl.
  18. I have a green bike. Today I am wearing a green shirt. Yesterday I wore a green t-shirt. I have a green Ibex wool baselayer. Green is a great color.
  19. It matters. On one of our first hikes, we climbed up a bluff overlooking a river and I pulled out an IPA and dark chocolate. I won her heart there. On our upcoming bikepacking trip, I'm planning to strap a full box of wine to my bike rack.
  20. Why don't married people have sex lives? Seems like you are doing it wrong.
  21. Not sure, but that sounds gross. On a bikepacking trip, I brought Pringles, boxed wine, and other great f&b options. I dumped the Pringles into my bag on accident. GF and I still ate them from the bottom of the bag. She appreciated the boxed wine. I always bring the best food and drink options even when skiing.
  22. Pringles have a great calorie to weight ratio so they are good for bikepacking/backpacking. Climbers love them for this reason. If you dump them into your bag, your GF won't mind fishing them out with you. You can't afford to waste calories in the backcountry.
  23. Eben is a good writer. Funny article. I've got five bikes and ride them all. I think if I had to, I could get down to two, but it would be hard. https://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-gear/bikes-and-biking/how-to-get-rid-of-bikes/ So how many bicycles should one person have? Well, there’s no consensus on this matter. For some riders one single speed may be enough, and for others ten bikes with twenty gears apiece might be scarcely sufficient. Of course, cycling philosophers have ruminated on this question since the days of the penny-farthing, and according to the oft-cited Rule 12 of the Velominati, the equation for the correct number of bikes is as follows: The correct number of bikes to own is n+1. While the minimum number of bikes one should own is three, the correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner. However, the Velominati rules are stupid and should be ignored in most cases. The Velominati also says you shouldn’t use a saddlebag, which is like saying you shouldn’t keep a spare roll of toilet paper in the bathroom.
