  1. Man in MD was stabbed outside a Popeyes on Sunday Over cutting in line. No chicken sammich is worth that. i did try the devil’s chicken sammich on Sunday but I was in VA. It was meh. I feel the same about the Lord’s chicken sammich. I can make more better at home.
  2. Redskins are going to turn it around and steal the Super Bowl trophy from the Cleveland Browns in double overtime. Mark my words....they’re meaningless.
  3. Late to the party as I went to bed after driving home from Boston. Before I did though, I had a Hi Def DIPA from Castle Island, they’re in Norwood MA. Good NE DIPA.
  4. Wo7 texted RtJ on Thursday. “If you don’t take your Dad to get three months of bank statements today, he will lose Medicaid eligibility. This means the process will start all over and there is no way to know when he’ll move out of your condo.” The statements were obtained Thursday. Carrot meet stick. JtM took LAJ to the Social Security office in downtown Cincinnati today. The paperwork is updated to keep Medicaid coverage. We should know more in a few weeks. JtM is done helping, so she says. Wo7 has not said when she is going back. When she goes, son of 7 and I may go too as so7 is buying an LS3 motor for his rock buggy, and will need help bringing it back.
  5. There’s a parade in DC that son and I will go to on Saturday. It will be nucking futz. But we haven’t had a baseball championship in over 90 years.
  6. Unless it’s a cold day in hell I probably won’t return to Cincinnati. If that should change, I’ll let you know.
  7. They may have that, my wife is filling that role but if he refuses to open his mail we will never know. We can’t change his address as he would be turned down for benefit eligibility in Ohio. I suggested forwarding his mail here, but if he gets a package that would mess things up. I’ll tell my wife to ask if Senior Serviced can help. He doesn’t have bills per se other than the bank he’s not paying. But paperwork on benefits can’t be ignored.
  8. This drama event is unfolding live. LAJ received a letter in early October from Social Security/Medicare stating that unless he completed Medicare reapplication paperwork by today he would lose coverage. Wo7 learned about this on Monday when LAJ’s senior services rep called Wo7 to find out how things are going. As we are in MA Wo7 cannot do much. She called JtM to get help. JtM said she will take care of this* but this is the last time. *Take LAJ to his credit union to obtain copies of statements. I expect her to head out to OH next week. LAJ is a worthless pos.
  9. My thought is the Nats will have a bigger crowd because it’s on a Saturday. The Caps celebration was insanely huge but that was a weekday and people took off work to be there.
  10. We stayed up watching game 7 of the World Series. I feel a little sad for the ‘rastros but happy that my hometown won the series. Parade is on Saturday, the place will be crazy.
  11. Yay Nats win! The icing is that they won the year after Harper left to play in Philly. Bryceless!
  12. At a dockside shack for seafood dinners in Plymouth. Woods is a local legend. It’s a rainy gloomy night but I’m looking forward to my fried scallop platter.
  13. Snack shack was under water, about 3’. High tide, global warning or something. The parking lot lost a little real estate also.
  14. Never had a series go six games without a home team victory until last night. That includes NHL and NBA too.
  15. On Monday, wo7 and I drove up to Boston. We left home a little before 4am to beat traffic. I chose to take the NJTP to Fort Lee and then the Palisades Parkway up to 287 and take the Tappan Zee to 95 N thru CT. We stopped for breakfast around 9 at a diner in Fort Lee. At the parkway exit there was a scenic park overlooking the Hudson. After breakfast, we visited there and found the road carved into the cliffs went all the way down to the river. A nice diversion.
  16. Verlander’s number is 93 pitches in five innings. Strasburg 71.
  17. None here. As I’ve said previously, we live on a busy road with no sidewalks and big lots. No trickertreaters at our house. Moot question as we will be in a hotel in MA on Thursday.
  18. Sounds cold. 50ish in Boston. Cloudy with rain in the forecast for the week.
  19. You are correct. DH in Houston, pitchers at the plate in DC.
  20. Is the name given to seeds dropped by hardwoods. In my neighborhood that means oaks are dropping acorns. By the millions it seems like. They hit the roof, the driveway and walk like gunshots. I need a hard hat when I go out anymore.
  21. Heathen. Pots n pans don’t go in the dishwasher. Knives either. Never in my kitchen.
