Besotted and awry

Decided to step away from a friendship with inherently a good person. To me an atypical situation. She has a close friendship with a guy close to her age (he's in his early 80's) and they have happy, hrs. long intellectual conversations. According to her, working on a "thesis" about evolution of human philosophy and influence on culture. Draws upon psychology. Honestly that's like taking an .5 credit course.  Some concepts I'm familiar with and not new.  

Anyway, they hope to give lectures. "When do you hope to finish?" I asked, knowing they've been at this for past 3 yrs. or more.  She waves her hand to the sky:  "When we get the sign".  My comment to her was that time was not infinite. She is 79 yrs. 

She also prefers to step away from friendship, so she can focus with refining this "thesis" with him.

Anyway, I gave up 2 months ago. The end.
