You usually have to hit enter or something to get a pasted link to go active. On the eye phone I’ll have to copy/paste to get that to work. Never mind! Works snnoww. Ok, having read it, parking IS sort of a sacred cow. Nothing is easy! So quoting activates links too.

Parking is a sacred cow. They are about to eliminate two blocks of it here and add protected bike lanes. It will make it easier for families to ride to the park. It's sort of knee jerk by businesses that have the street parking, since they would need to rethink their current business model. Usually it seems to turn out that the shops along those routes can attract equal or MORE business from the foot & bike traffic increase. Cars often go from A -> B at higher speeds and with no stopping to check things out. Cyclists and pedestrians - not surprisingly - are going slower so actually can look in store windows and take a moment to shop locally. Of course, that doesn't mean the CURRENT business in a spot is the kind that will do well under the new circumstances. That means "change" and to many folks, "change" is a four letter word.
