Ah ha! This sounds kinda similar to what I went through a few years ago.
When I moved to a different location I ordered Comcast because they didn't have a year contract to sign. When I ordered cable, I asked what I would be charged on a monthly basis, including tax. I was given a number and so I ordered from them because they appeared to be a lower rate from another provider. When I received my bill, it was about 30 bucks more a month.
After talking with the rep for an explanation I did not find acceptable, I went setup an appointment with Verizon and called back to cancel with Comcast. You would think I was killing the rep's first born child or something. After arguing for what seemed like 15 hours, I asked to talk to their manager who, was not available. I then suggested they speak with my lawyer -- yes I was that frustrated.
Never again.
About a year later a Comcast Goon showed up to my house to offer me a new plan. I was on my way out to a particularly bad part of town for to help someone out so I was carrying my 1911. I hadn't covered it up yet with my 'Carrying Shirt' so it was exposed. Anyway, after asking the Goon to leave several times, he finally saw the gun. LOL! Now, I didn't brandish it in anyway; I only had it on my hip. That was a funny day. I immediately visited my neighbor next door to explain what happened in case he received a call (he's a local police officer).
I hate Comcast.
