When I came back to CT from the Orlando job I called my referee assignor to offer to fill in any emergency holes in his schedule even though I was over the FIFA age limit (didn't really matter for amateur soccer). He said "you might not like it any more because my refs are getting assaulted more than ever". Fans vs referee bullshit was what caused womaxx to quit the job. There have been assholes in this country for decades. She left the business shortly after having to peel a dad off of one of our 14 year old town referees after an under 7 no score game. I used the command voice once to clear the fans out of an indoor soccer game after some attempted to enter the converted hockey rink. I did it so forcefully that the front desk who didn't see the event but heard it called the police.
