  1. We all eat a dollop of yogurt with berries as part of breakfast, but mr and #2 prefer vanilla yogurt instead of plain. So, we’ve been eating some vanilla yogurt while the plain was hidden at the back of the drawer. I think I’ll just toss it. I really cannot remember when I bought it. And the whey is cloudy and yellowing.
  2. I gave myself a Celeste Bianchi for achieving National Board certification. Meh… The black Bianchi I ride now looks cute with a brown saddle and cork bar grips.
  3. There’s good gut bacteria, and there’s salmonella.
  4. Based on experience, or an arbitrary moment when the yogurt just cannot be edible?
  5. mr’s Nova was white, but we haven’t owned a white car since.
  6. I don’t remember when I bought it. The container was at the far back of the chiller drawer in the fridge. I used a serving, but then forgot it was there.
  7. Maybe I could mix it with honey. Honey has anti-microbial properties.
  8. It’s hard to throw away four servings of fancy pants yogurt, though. Maybe high-end salmonella isn’t as messy.
  9. Let’s keep your little ritual a secret some more.
  10. It’s high-end yogurt, though. Probably a cool $100.
  11. That’s why I cannot tell if it tastes weird because it’s past its edible time, or if it’s just yogurt.
  12. And there’s no expiration date. It was probably printed on the foil seal. It’s just plain yogurt without added sugar or flavor. How would I know if it’s turned?
  13. And the people speak their amen. What did you learn here? (Old Man House) By Cedar Sigo For Joy Harjo How to fall asleep easily on the beach, to dig clams, to dream a net made of nettles, a medicine of marsh tea boiled out to the open air, a memory of cedar bark coiled, resting for months in cold water to be fashioned into our so-called lifestyle, clothes for ceremony as well as our dailiness, canoe bailers, diapers, we used the wood for our half-mile longhouse and totems, dried fish, a hard smoke, wooden oval plates that hooked together filled with clear oil of salmon, to wet our palates and smooth our bodies. A shawl of woolly dog (now extinct) they were bred on tiny islands we can still identify, Tatoosh Island off of Cape Flattery, where there were whaling tribes too, the Makah, one of whose villages collapsed, preserved in silt (later unearthed) and how else? Which other ceremonies or necessary edges of objects? Our ivory needles, otter pelts, mat creasers, our dances. What else do you remember dreaming of?A kind of rake to skim the waves, to catch tiny fish on rows of twisted nails.

My niece’s manic phases include delusions. It isn’t good.
  16. And the loyalty app. Free loaf on my next visit!
  17. You all act as if a chunk of bread is the devil’s foothold. It’s not for everyone; I get that.
  18. Aww… how you going to deny a man his slow cooker pork braise?
