    Weight control, blood pressure control, exercise, avoidance of alcohol and tobacco…. Further advise based upon the etiology of the first stroke. Blood thinner is thromboembolic event, but not if due to a cerebral hemorrhage.

    We’ve had 3 Covid cases at work in the last week, and a fourth coworker’s wife is ill, so we’ll see how his booster holds up . Fortunately we have a mask mandate at work that everyone follows pretty closely. But it seems pretty ubiquitous these days.

    I believe the law is if they advertise the indication for the drug, they also have to advertise potential side effects. I don’t know how “rare” a side effect needs to be to make or miss the cut. Personally, I think they should ban all drug advertising, that way doctors aren’t pressure to give you the latest and greatest that you ask for, because you’ve seen it on TV.

    That probably depends entirely upon what channel and program you are watching on both sides of the border.

    Probably. I forget the exact reference, but that’s generally what is intended with vaccination references. Don’t know. Not sure that’s been quantified, yet. That’s the frustration with the latest CDC report, there’s not a lot of data accompanying it. I think this evening there was even a revision that they aren’t sure how much the Omicron variant has become dominant, after all.

    I did an unsupported double century, hilly terrain, with one other guy. ride time 10:56 and average speed of 18.2 mph over 200.08 miles. I’d done numerous fixed gear centuries in the Western PA hills. Some times back to back on both days of a weekend. Too many geared centuries to mention.

    I think the data is that you’re 34x less likely to get sick with Covid if you’ve had a Moderna full dose booster. Probably similar for Pfizer, but I didn’t hear that number. This guidance isn’t any different that what I got in October when I was exposed via my wife. Without symptoms, no quarantine or test was required for me, just told to wear a mask. I played it safer, quarantining for five days and getting a negative test before returning to work.

    10 days after onset of symptoms is all you need, as long as the fever has resolved. You don’t need a negative test to be cleared from quarantine. You’re actually likely to get a false positive test at day 10 due to dead virus particles being detected while not actually infectious. Just FYI.

    I talked with my SIL who’s day #10. Still coughing terribly, but otherwise getting better. Your course is similar to my wife’s illness in October. You have your smell and taste?
