  1. Did the person offer contraceptives?
  2. I will say too, most of them were simply old/very used looking. Some even looked dangerous in terms of lack of safety features. I didn't even want to try using some of them.
  3. Olas Nah

    Uh oh...

I used to sell PC's back in the day of the big box retailers and before everything went online. We went from weekly commission to monthly, then quarterly, then simply an annual bonus. Then I left the sales field forever.
  4. To his credit, we did find out that there was a hobbit like species of human ancestor
  5. If you're into tools, I can see that, but, my dad tried to pass on his own Dad's tools to me. I didn't and still don't know the first thing about a lot of that stuff. I didn't know what to do with them, so they sat in the garage until eventually I just gave them away. My Dad didn't want them (he was probably only 50 at the time he tried to give them to me), which was my first hint of how likely I'd want them.
  6. lol....I've got to find a way to sneak off and watch it this week, but a friend has recommended 'Edge of Tomorrow' over this. Still, gotta see if Grimlock is worth the ticket price....
  7. He's kinda ruined the Transformers for me. In the first film, they didn't have 15million moving parts and were at least looking like they transformed from something else, but now they're more like the T1000, they just mold into whatever they want. The first film was the best, but that's not saying much. I only liked the 2nd because of the Jetfire character and Devastator. I can't remember the 3rd film much. Shockwave was in it I think for about half a minute, but Optimus kills him. Megatron and Starscream both were disappointing. I would have preferred them to look more like their cartoon counterparts at least in what their modes were. I understand Galvatron is in this one, but I doubt he has the Unicron origin, so I'm just not sure what I'm watching anymore.
  8. Same for me. What I experienced was nothing compared to our guys in the recent conflicts, so I don't consider myself as having done anything worth thanking for. It was a job, I got paid, and college money on top of that. Yes, you technically put yourself in harm's way just by joining, but since even my brief deployment was all of a few weeks, it doesn't compare to some other grunt's back to back 18 month grueling slugfest through hundreds of miles of IED infested roads, snipers, and random mortar attacks, not to mention all the direct combat, etc.
  9. I had someone call me a 'trained killer' when they found out I'd been in the service, and avoided me like the plague after that.
  10. I for one never thought I'd be putting up with a bunch of nutbags on a messageboard.... in that sense, my life went completely off the rails.
  11. I was there a few years ago. IIRC, the 'new' mission control room is still in the same building, but they wouldn't show us that. What was odd to me was the fact that it was just housed inside a regular and rather drab building. You kinda think it'd be in some sort of huge tower or futuristic complex or something, but it might as well been the administrative section of an old high school. Now what was impressive to me was Sprint's ops center in Kansas City. Holy sheot, it looked high tech.
  12. I'm not a Christian, so the last thing I'd have on my bumper (unless it's there from me hitting them) is some mega-church's sticker on my car.
  13. Get in line. Everybody knows I'm first for this. And, you have a high probability of being shot once I'm in power, so don't worry about your place in line. Whatever makes the bullets go through more people....
  14. Jesus, right when he comes back.
  15. I just keep myself out of Zone 5, and limit my Zone 4. Been on a few pretty hot/humid rides of late, and you can adapt to it, but it's just never fun when the humidity is so bad. I've typically taken a little bit of a break from riding during the hotter months, only riding in the mornings or late evening around sunset, and limiting my miles. It's a good break anyway from the higher mileage and pace of the spring.
  16. Who forgave you?....let me guess..... and then let me argue that you haven't... and then I'll mention that bit about self-righteousness
  17. Usually the nature of the issue is one where forgiveness can't really feature into the equation, as in, that person will do and has done this or that repeatedly and there's no changing that behavior, so it is a matter of simply learning this about the person, and then ending your contact with the person once you've figured that out. Forgiving would imply that you have some reason to keep that association going that vastly outweighs that offending issue, at which point I would say that word is improper for the situation....I call that 'putting up with that person's shit because we've got this project to do'. Very few people decide to live together after they have hurt one another, because it's functionally a bad idea. See above about 'will do and has done this repeatedly'...
  18. Pretty much this. If there's anyone I've burned (outside of bicycling discussion forums of course) in life, or that have burned me, I simply don't associate with the person anymore.
  19. I didn't start the thread you silly illiterate boob. I'm not talking about forgiving anyone or asking for forgiveness, I'm talking about the people who are. There's an actual difference there. That's the 'essence' of what I said. Stop projecting....
  20. You shouldn't. I'm going to strike again. I suppose another thing I was thinking of mentioning was all the pushovers..... It's okay Nate. One month it's this, another it's something else. Best that you have more time to sort out what you believe, although, since you have no consistent source material due to the frequent and varying interpretations of source text (depending on what the issue is), I'd expect you'd need a damned thousand lifetimes to arrive at consistency. You see, I learned this, being a former Christian and all. Now then, you were saying about 'understanding'?
  21. Enlighten me. What is the 'essence' of what I just said?
  22. I don't think it has to be in the past, that's just an example, one I've encountered. The other party, like it or not, often simply didn't care because they saw the situation entirely differently. It's very much akin to the problem of evil...of which there really is no such thing. All of the bad men in history often saw themselves as doing the right thing or a greater good, etc. Or, they just didn't care because there were other issues on their radar, so a matter of 'neglect' or 'unawareness' becomes an offense to someone else. Seen that plenty. Also kinda like being pissed at a family member because they didn't attend a funeral (just using this as an example although I'm sure in that case mentioned above there were other issues in play)...... why does somebody have to answer to YOUR desires when that's not what they wanted? Makes no sense. But I'm not calling it a weakness so much as the person talking about forgiveness either needs to move on or stop thinking so highly of themselves. Nate, who gives a crap?. Get what you want out of it, but there's no 'understanding' of its teachings, there's simply whatever you get from that part of your life you spend doing that stuff. It's an institution......There's no deeper meaning to it than what you personally invest in it. I'll let you figure that out for yourself, but don't roll on me with some silly idea that you know Christianity better than anyone else who grew up in that institution. I don't dicker with somebody over which Spider-Man timeline they favor, for example. Of all the things that's come out of your mouth..... Do me a favor though, why don't you post up what your 'understanding' is in the other section just so I can figure out that insanity first hand....
  23. Always somebody else's fault.... My personal theory is that it's a bit of self-righteousness showing here.... never does a person talk more about forgiveness than the persons who probably need to be forgiven the most for the things they did....by people who have moved on years ago already. Just sayin.....
