    Good time to start

The law is a funny thing. There are a lot of laws on the books that are never enforced. That law was Nixon's revenge on the hippies, it never had a thing to do with the drug. Pure revenge. I think we're getting over it.
  2. I just got an led pot light from Amazon for under $150. It looks well made. When I started, my ballast on sale cost me about $120. That doesn't include the bulb and the hood to put the bulb in. The prices of led lights have come down. This should work as good or better than my 400 watt hps and it consumes 265 watts. Which is also why I got it. With my hps, I was having trouble with the temps getting higher than ideal in freaking february.. It's also thinner, which means I can let the plant grow a few inches taller before surgery is called for in my small tent. As Hubert Humphrey used to say, I'm pleased as punch. Anyway, you could get a tent, a light, special pot dirt and the pot to put it in for around 300. An ounce of pot would set you back more than that. Prob none of you do, but I wanted to tell somebody, so you get to be my victims.
  3. If you are going to get physical, the best time of year is the last 2 weeks of August, and the first week or two of Sept. Mostly the bugs are gone, the days are warm and dry, and the nights are cool.
  4. Where do you get them?
  5. Maine gets a few million visitors a year. As with anything else, it depends on what you want. If you want to ride a 100km in the Italian alps and sit on a table outside with a gorgeous view and an espresso, we're not your cup of joe. And I think italy is one of the best places on the planet to ride a bike (except Rome). Anyway, we have lots of places. Baxter is the end of the AT, and terrific. There's Acadia, and good road and mtn riding, and you can rent. We have really good restaurants. We also have really good ice cream. We have some cool islands. We have some good bike rides, but you have to be careful, because there are a lot of roads I would not suggest you ride. Perhaps my favorite place to stop on a bike ride is Camden, but getting in and out is tricky. We also have a few LL Bean factory stores. They are catch as catch can, but I get some great deals there. For my 2 cents, the best place to stay in Maine is near Augusta, and there is a lot of tough hilly riding there. We used to do that occasionally. One of the rooms has a hot tub. They do catering, and usually tell you to hit the fridge, their goodies are awesome, and after riding all day, better than awesome. There is really good riding the North Conway NH area, and we liked Vermont as well.

  7. You have that completely bass ackwards. This is the 3rd historic wave of racism. We started re-segregating in 1989. There's a lot in there if you look at it.

  9. New Balance 813 6E. Only thing I know of that fits.
  10. True, but it's been getting worse, and it could get a lot worse after the election.
  11. Mine doesn't do a lot of discriminating.
  12. Racism will soon get worse, quite possibly a lot worse, the return of Jim Crow.
  13. She needed to pick a guy to illustrate her point about the damage the oil biz does, and a year before he hits the headlines, she picks Firtash, Putin's favorite bagman.
  14. I have 3 winter jackets, a Fall soft shell that's great for bike riding in cool weather, and a rain jacket and they all have hoods. I do have jackets without hoods, but most of the time I've got a hood.
  15. That is one beautiful bit of flying. In order to stay over the runway he has to fly into the wind, but at an angle that keeps him over the runway. Usually the pilot straightens out just before touchdown. But the crosswind was so strong it must have been too dangerous to do that. Using the wind also lets him land at a slower speed. I'd like to buy him a stiff drink.
  16. "In the recently released game Coffee Talk, you play a coffee-shop barista who stands at a counter, through long, rainy Seattle nights, making drinks for customers as they tell you about their lives. That’s it. That’s all you do. There’s no aim, no purpose." "Also, this is an alternative version of Seattle populated not just by humans, but by elves, demons and other fantastical beings, so your clientele is pretty varied. Elves tell you about their love lives, insomniac werewolves seek calm and quiet – you listen and you try to make drinks that will soothe them." https://www.theguardian.com/games/2020/feb/03/video-games-where-you-do-almost-nothing
