If you were paying attention, and obviously you don't, you'd remember that a very young Cheese was at the downtown airport the night their plane left Greenville. 

Broke my heart when she died. I was getting ready for bed when I heard DadCheese yell for Mom to come into the den. I remember it was NBC news. 

This my friend, and because he is a leftish weirdo with terrible music, is why I will always hate Neil Young.

Did Neil shoot the plane down?  I suspect some drunken backwood redneck from Greenville siphoned some gas out of the plane thinking they could make it into moonshine.  It had nothing to do with Neil.
