A grizzly century

I got a late start but rolled out before 9:00. Temp was in the low 30s but warmed to mid 50s. I saw elk, bison, sandhill cranes, and deer. Around mile 40 I saw about a dozen cars on the shoulder so I slowed my roll. There she was. 399 and two cubs about 50 yards off the road and moving. I took a couple of quick pics and rolled on. I stopped for lunch not long after, then decided to push on. At mile 53 I was a the north end of the park at John D. Rockefeller Memorial highway. Just 8 miles south of Yellowstone. If I went for it, I'd be over 120 for the ride and late getting home. So I turned around and headed for home. Near Pilgrim creek, I saw at least 30 cars on the shoulder. Lots of big lenses on those cameras, rangers, orange cones, and there she was again. This time about a quarter of a mile away. 399 and her cubs.

My route: I started at the green mark at the bottom of the map. I rode to the red mark at the top. Turned around and rode back. On the way north, I took the road on the left along the lakes. On the way south, I took the road on the right further away from the lakes.
