MickinMD ★ Posted January 10, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2021 Jackson Browne on the Eagles Glenn Frey coming up with the key lines to help complete Browne's composition, "Take It Easy": "Girl, Lord, and Ford all in one line! That's ingenious!" Frey's contribution: "It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford, slowin' down to take a look at me." Where I grew up, if the lyric had truly said, "flat red Ford", we would have heard it as, "flatbed Ford". Everyone I knew was very familiar with the concept of a flatbed truck.
