That's pretty cool! :nodhead:

I find it interesting that few trees have grown up in the footprint of the old fort.  Perhaps someone cleared the area of any trees that did grow to make the historic site more accessible.

Here's an abandoned section of the Erie Canal, a much 'younger' construction, yet it's overgrown so much that nature has essentially reclaimed it.

That looks Ed Zachary like the trail longjohn and petite were on in that one picture. :D
