    I just looked through the route trying to find out when the TTT was, and struck out. Guess that explains it. There hasn't been a TTT in quite a few years now, yes?

    holy cow! Contador lost almost three minutes! I can only assume he was extra wary of the conditions, and/or has supreme confidence that he can beat Nibali in the mountains. Or the TT, if it comes to that.

    amazing. So much was made of the cobbles but there were so many crashes even before they got there... Very sad to see the defending champion taken out, no matter who it is. I was going to say Contador's road to the top of the podium just got easier - but I think it's better to save such statements until today's stage is through.

    Brazil just put in a 6th - do they still have their foot on the gas? By my count, this is the first time in the entire tournament someone's put up 6 in a match.

    Two guys are out hunting and manage to get themselves hopelessly lost. One says to the other, "I heard that if you fire three shots into the air it's like a signal for people to come find you." So they do so, and sit and wait. After fifteen minutes, no one has come so they fire another three shots and wait. Another fifteen minutes go by with no sign of any rescuers, and one of the guys says "We should try one more time - it's going to start getting dark soon." "OK - but we're almost out of arrows."

    Got some rice and beans, apple, peach, yogurt, granola bar, peanuts...... Since I resumed riding my appetite has really cranked back up and I don't think this is going to be enough today. I have a little bag of chips too but I'm trying not to eat them.

    good morning..... don't think I'll get a ride in today but I'm going to try to get up early for a quick one tomorrow morning. I got a text from my wife that we need a new blender. Apparently our daughter (who's just learned of the joy of smoothies) didn't realize that the pitcher part is not connected to the base - so you can't carry it by the pitcher handle.

    I like inventive chord changes and unusual arrangements, and I don't dislike jazz. On paper, therefore, I should enjoy Steely Dan - but I despise almost everything they've ever done.
