  1. Somebody brought up all the orphaned children, and then everyone left the room.
  2. Alicia, Def. 1: A beautiful girl who’s smart, honest and gentle, but she can also be aggressive. She likes to make random noises. She has eyes that sparkle under the light and sometimes change colour but are usually green. She loves chocolate. She rarely feels fear, she has rosy cheeks and always seems to have a gorgeous smile on her face. She’s not afraid of her sexuality. Although her hands always seem to be cold her heart is very warm, and her kiss gives a feeling like no other. Judy, Def. 3: Cute, cheery, upbeat, fun. The name of someone who is always cheery and happy, almost in an irritating way; because it's hard to be around a Judy when you're in a grumpy mood yourself. Saying the name Judy instantly creates an uncontrollable bounciness or giddiness in the person saying it. Celeste, Def. 1: amazingly beautiful, one from heaven, angel-like. These girls typically make amazing girlfriends and any guy would be lucky to have a Celeste.
  3. My avatar is too small to see the joke. Rudolph is looking at his report card. He has good grades in every subject except History where his grade dropped from a B to a D. Rudolph went down in History.
  4. Have you checked out your name on UrbanDictionary? Definition 12: "A Susan is someone who is generous, smart, and open-minded. They love to have fun, but know right from wrong. They don't really have friends they trust, but are always there for other people. Susan's are very good at keeping secrets and building friendships. They don't hate anyone and never hold grudges. Their biggest weakness is forgiveness. She forgives to easily, and has an amazing capacity to care about people, even those who hurt her. A Susan is extremely beautiful but denies it. She never sees the good qualities in herself but only in other people. Susans are very ambitious. They love to get involved and are very athletic. They tend to be really talented at their favorite sport and always give it their all. When it comes to the future, Susans dream BIG. They'll do whatever it takes to reach their goal and won't allow anyone to bring them down. Susans make excellent companions and will love you like no one else could. They care more about their lovers feelings than their own and will do almost anything to see them smile." Definition 4: "A woman that can be a classy lady when she needs to be. She wears tailored clothes, sends thank you cards to your grandmother, and knows what fork to use during each course. The remainder of the time, she is found cursing like a sailor, drinking most men under the table, being able to kill a man 1,000 different ways with craft supplies, and other badassery." Definition 1: "Susan's tend to be wonderful girls! If you've got one hold on tight! Susan's are extremely fun, caring, intelligent, very funny, beautiful, and make the best friends and girlfriends ever! They are the epitome of classyness!"
  5. <...he says in his best "Children of the Corn" voice>
  6. Be careful when you ride with Parr8...he'll lead you into a nearby, God-forsaken corn field.
  7. I also learned in middle school and then sharpened my skills in a high school business typing class. Both used an IBM Selectric typewriter. High school class was more about producing documents, invoices, etc. so we really practiced with the number keys and with a number pad on a big calculator too. My dad bought me an old Underwood manual typewriter to type his UTU documents since he was VP of his local. He thought I'd make an excellent secretary because my typing was fast and accurate. I don't look at the keys, but I do look at the screen so I know when I make a mistake to hit the back key and correct it, and I'm not all that fast, but I can keep up with people talking. My students always smile when I transcribe their comments onto the interactive white board while they're talking. "It's like you already know what we're going to say..."
  8. I've ridden with Az_cyclist twice, once with Az_PeterB and once with UglyBob (who is by no means ugly). I also rode with KT and Destination in Seattle. Snap! I forgot until now that I rode through the 'hood with Parr8 and the kids. Emmy kicked everyone's ass.
  9. The trophy we received was hand-made in ceramics class by a member of the host school's team. It's quite...original. I'll try to post a picture.
  10. "not sure what's stopping me from trying to learn now" The fact that what you're doing works in a variety of situations... If it's not broken, don't fix it.
  11. It depends. Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, and public forum each debate different resolutions. Congress debates bills submitted by local schools at the beginning of the season. http://www.speechanddebate.org/topics
  12. She was insulted enough to smile without words. She's something of a perfectionist, and this will become one of those family in-jokes that follows her for the rest of her life.
  13. You're CAT 4 sponsored by Vanderkitten? Are they going to travel you, too? Are you going to race in New Mexico...like at the Gila?
  14. They won 1st place sweepstakes at the last tournament of the first semester this weekend. I'm very happy for them.
  15. My husband's niece recently went through the process of developing her music therapy LLC. During a conversation midway through the paperwork and applications, she said something about having "all her ducks in one basket." So, for her birthday last month I gave her a beautiful photo frame with two windows: one holds a well-composed, professional photo of ducks in a basket and the other an equally professional photo of eggs in a row. She was not impressed. Her brothers, though, thought it was perfect.
  16. Anti-deletion is just good journalism.
  17. That's a good thing to care about, Bob. I'm sorry you're in the middle of this, but by the same token, I'm glad it's you who can be there for him.
  18. We're the default for "I opened this thread, but have nothing to say." Or, "The Land of Enchantment", depending upon how you spin that moment you realize there are no words. I {heart} NM.
  19. Very bigoted (in the what other way of being gay is not the good sorta way)
  20. No cause for concern, Krazy. She and I are making plans to wear the same outfits at the next summit of the Trilateral Commission in Belize. Petite found these adorable little numbers with a fitted bodice and pencil skirt, but we're still looking for the right pump.
  21. Catches the most bass. Because you know I'm all about that bass, 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all 'bout that bass, 'bout that bass, no treble I'm all 'bout that bass, 'bout that bass, no treble I'm all 'bout that bass, 'bout that bass
  22. I've had an unexpected yet GREAT life.
