  1. Good morning. Its already 20 degrees here. Temps have been slowly rising all night. It actually feels a little balmy out there.
  2. This sums it up for us too. The potato pancakes and the fried rice quickly comes to mind. But the closest Trader Joe's is over 45 minutes away so my wife only shops and stocks up there 4 or 5 times a year. Luckily our locally owned grocery store has the best produce, deli/meat department we've found anywhere.
  3. My wife and I have finally gotten to the point where we can't hear each other. We went from a couple who rarely had spats to having them most everyday because of it.
  4. Brrr, good morning. - 8 degrees out there. Butt cold I tells ya.
  5. When I was young, I saw a girl get her toes stuck in the end of one of those people movers. She was wearing flip flops or something. When they finally got it stopped and got her loose, her toes looked like bloody stumps. I've been leery of those things ever since.
  6. Sorry, living on only a few hours of sleep per night finally caught up with me. I fell asleep early on the couch and didn't wake up till I heard the gunshots at midnight. Then I just ran for cover. Its pretty much what I do every New Year.
  7. Most snowmobile trails are on private property that snowmobilers get permission to use and maintain exclusively for snowmobilers. But the multi use trails they have to share. And it makes them crazy. Add the advent of fat bikes....... The forum has been taken over by a bunch of narcissistic false bravado. So I don't go on there much anymore. But I still have a lot of friends on there.
  8. Who hid the NYE thread way up here in the pinned area? Good thing I looked for it before I started drinking. Anyway, if we get bored we can invade a snowmobile forum later on. They have their panties in a bunch because there is a bicycle race on a MUT up north this weekend. They're not a bit happy about sharing "their trail" with cyclists. http://ridefatbikes.com/2013/11/tuscobia-150-journal-1/
  9. So Beanz is a real life Tony Stark? Who knew? If you can, listen to the clip with headphones at high volume. http://youtu.be/YBC1Qob27sM
  10. I changed the headlamps once or twice on my old Mazda 6. You had to take the whole flipping bumper cover off. But the last time one went out, I had the dealer change both. Had them change the little marker lights at the same time too.
  11. Always love your pictures. My old digital camera has been on its last leg for years. So my wife bought me a new fancier camera that is better suited to my needs, but I'll never remember how to use all its features. Best I can do is set it to auto and hope the pictures turn out. I did figure out the zoom feature though. Trail pics from yesterday.
  12. Well at least you have the door opened for communications now.
  13. Putting the toys together was okay. But I LOVED putting the stickers on.
  14. Merry Christmas. Riding buddy sent me this Christmas picture. Even Santa does the point wave. Safe riding.
  15. I'm here. Everyone just left. Even my wife went to her mother's for Christmas eve. Me and the doggies are chillin. Thinking about grabbing a beer and firing up the new popcorn maker I got for Christmas.
  16. Good luck, I hope it all works out. I havent seen my younger sister, or her family in over 20 years.
  17. I love camping. Mind if I join ya? I can bring my RV.
  18. More squeaky. Not bad battered and deep fried though.
  19. Lol, when I finished my drive I saw my neighbor struggling with his shovel, so I went over to help him with what the snowplow left on his drive and mailbox. And I found his newspaper with the thrower. It was spectacular! I think his kids are still out picking up shreds of paper. I think we wound up with 6+ inches total.
  20. 4-5 inches so far. They're still calling for a possible 8 inches. It is beautiful.
  21. All our kids inherited our old cars, eliminating having to take a chance on buying used. The tradition still continues, our DIL is still driving our old 220,000 mile Corolla. We figured she would drive it for a few months until they could afford a new one. She has been driving it for a few years now and loves it. And at the last family get together, they were all arguing who gets "Blue" our commuter Mazda3.
  22. Did someone say cheese for Christmas?
  23. I've been watching the radar on and off all night. Most of it went south. I can still see the brick pattern under the snow on our patio at 3am. It's still supposed to snow all morning though. One of the weatherheads said that if we had gotten the moisture that went south, as snow, we would have had several feet. We snowmobilers get all "little girl giddy" when we hear about these big systems that come up out of Texas.
