    Which browser?

Chrome on my laptop. Safari and Chrome on my phone. My personal PC is an old Windows 7 unit that almost cost me data when trying to upgrade to 10. It uses Chrome but that is no longer supporting 7. Edge runs better in that beast. Hoping to replace it very soon!
  2. I have a Garmin 735XT watch. Has the built-in HRM. Agree with @JerrySTL that it’s not 100% accurate, but puts me in the ballpark. I can pretty much feel my HR by how I’m breathing anymore. I just use the watch to verify the range. If I go for more rides on Bush Hwy and the like, I will probably go back to a chest strap. My watch can connect to ANT devices. I prefer the watch on the handlebar mount on longer rides.
  3. Quality coffee Friendly baristas who know how to make a drink. Extra points if they try to remember what you drink. I prefer music as long as it’s not at rave levels. Just something to counter the steamers and blenders. Some pastries made on premises is a nice touch. My only complaint at my favorite here in Maricopa is lack of seating. It was just the way it had to be for her to afford to open.
  4. I had the same issue last year. I prefer to sleep on my left side. It faces to open air on my side of the bed and I snore less. When I was able to return to the bed after my surgery, the sling was a big help in keeping me off that side. I slept on my back and I snored more which kept me from feeling rested. Once I was given the ok to sleep on my side, it took several weeks before it was truly comfortable again. I still wake up with some tightness in my chest below the incision where the nerve sensations are all messed up after surgery.
  5. We got them as kids. Usually got a new spring shirt for church and Straw cowboy hat or some such. We got a small chocolate bunny or lamb, some jellybeans and some peep-like candy and robin eggs and a small toy. @Airehead I almost wonder if I might have better retained my faith had I been raised Quaker.
  6. 17 on the Bush Hwy with the Stradalli. Just north of Mesa in the Tonto National Forest. Rolling hills with a couple decent climbs. Wide shoulders and cyclists everywhere! My legs feel like trash today or I would have ridden more.
  7. Funny thing. Not long after that, the tables next to us were seated by 2 couples about our age. One guy turned to the other table and said they had just moved here. He asked a couple questions and I chimed in when he started talking about smoking meats and the other guy didn’t. We all started talking and having a great time getting to know each other. We exchanged phone numbers and FB profiles. Looking forward to getting to know them better!
  8. Portrait. All of them were very high contrast black and white portraits of the 3. I just started singing one of these things is not like the other.
  9. The restaurant we are eating is mostly a sports bar theme. Sports on TV and larger framed photos of sports events. However along wall, there are 3 large posters. On of John Wayne, one of Johnny Cash and…Salvador Dali?!? John Wayne ranched here. He frequented a restaurant down the street but he died before the town incorporated. Johnny Cash made great music and his persona fit with many people around her. The Salvador Dali thing has me confused. I will ask, but wondered if there is a connection I’m not aware of.
  10. I did that all the time when I had a lawn. I preferred a North wind so they would blow into Jerry’s yard. He was a REAL asshole and a lawn nazi. It was fun to piss him off. And he couldn’t say anything because I was maintaining my yard.
  11. I’m not big on lists or rankings. It’s all very subjective and at least for me, my mood can greatly change who I want to hear or consider a favorite. I like Zeppelin. The fact they covered old blues songs doesn’t bother me because hopefully the blues artists got some royalties out of the deal. I believe that is the intent of many artists of the era who covered the blues. I will be the first to admit the overkill on airplay to this day has made me less receptive to their music than in years past. Kind of like going nose blind to a scent even if you like it.
  12. I had one pass me in the freeway. I was driving the Miata with the top down. I was surprised by the quiet. Not just the lack of engine noise, but the lack of “whumba whumba” tire noise so typical to 4WD pickups.
  13. These types make sure they have numbers on their side before they make noise. They use “mob mentality” to coerce others who normally wouldn’t to side with them. It’s not isolated to Idaho by any means. Just a greater concentration there two they are more comfortable speaking what they feel.
  14. I saw a Tesla Cybertruck in the wild last week. I take back all the horrible things I said about the Aztek!

I just had to attach the psychic transceiver. Don’t ask where you plug it in.
  16. My uncle lived in Northern Idaho. I’m not sure how much was influence and how much confirmation bias, but he became more and more one of those people until his last year or so when he mellowed a bit. Unfortunately his son is moving further that direction. Beautiful countryside, but even is my appearance could pass as one of them, I don’t feel safe amongst them.
  17. Last fall, my next door neighbor and I were talking sports. I was pretty proud of our Husker volleyball team for have a world record attendance for a women’s sporting event of any type. His wife chimed in, “are you sure, they’re all women?” Her husband dropped his head and gave me an apologetic glance. Lots of ignorance to go around at the moment.

    How do you park?

Arizonans have a penchant for backing into parking spaces. With some vehicles, I get it. As it gets warm, I tend to park so the seats and steering wheel are away from the sun and hopefully near shade. I was amused the other day at Costco. There were 3 other groups nearby emptying their carts at the same time. They had all backed in and were having a hell of a time getting the mega packs of TP to the hatches and beds of their backed in vehicles. I pulled in forward so I just had to open the hatch and load straight from the cart.

@Randomguy - WoW was checking her pots and pans to make sure which ones were compatible. She was putting a cup of water in and setting on high. The first was the truest test since she kept repouring the water. Said it took less than a minute to reach full boil. Only a few pans didn’t pass. They were all aluminum.
  20. Work today. Dinner out tonight, then get some ingredients to start making the birria. Saturday - start the birria slow cooking then take the bike up to the Salt River area for a ride. Laundry and house cleaning when I return Sunday - the girls will be here for dinner. Quesabirilla tacos. Just chill and remember Dad on his birthday.
  21. WOW makes great cheesecake, on bagels, the spicy jelly dip @jsharr mentioned, in pinwheels. I’m sure there is more I’m not thinking of at the moment. Oh! Jalapeño poppers!

I have been a gas guy for over 40 years. It just wasn’t financially practical to run a gas line to the kitchen. My son suggested we investigate induction. Aside from having to replace a couple pans, not seeing a lot of downside. I’ll be happy to report. We’ve had a stainless fridge since we moved here. WOW wanted it in the stove too. The previous black stove made that part of the kitchen too dark for her. After 40 years of white stoves, she wanted different.

    Shogun

Anyone else here watching? It’s on FX, but also streaming on Hulu. I’m kind of liking it with a bit of reservation. While the names have been changed, the white Englishman being rescued and later becoming a strong ally is historically documented. I’ve just seen to many white savior movies in the past. Fortunately, so far, that doesn’t seem the case here. Interesting to see how the 2 cultures interact and the dynamics within Japanese society assuming the writer was accurate there. Hoping the fact there is a Japanese director makes that the case
