  1. Hmmm, sounds like I should check our weather channel. Whatever you get, we get a few hours or a day later.....
  2. No miles for me for a few days. I work through Saturday, and then Daughter#2 coming home to visit. Then again after the 81 miles this past Sunday on the Roubaix and then 9 or so on the fattie Tues, I'm spent.
  3. Google is EXTREMELY helpful at work. We do transcription, but we don't know all the radiologists know. Once in a while they will mumble a word we do not recognize. We listen to it over and over and then give up and try Google. After a few tries Google takes pity on us (ME) and asks, "Did you mean THIS, dumbass?" OHHHH!!! YA!! That's it! Thank you Google!
  4. I think that's about where mine is too. It's been slowly going up over the years. I've got a hearty family history of high cholesterol. My diet is ok, but I know I need more veggies. I'm NOT going to take Lipitor or any of it's evil family members. It has messed up my husband pretty hard (I know, not a genetic family member), and my mother says she gets achy as soon as she starts taking it. I'm going to have to hope for another type of cholesterol reducing medication to work for me. Don't bother saying I have to get more active; I don't have enough energy for MORE activity in my days.
  5. Thanks, but that's old news. Ya, I think I just sit too low. That head band attachment is looking better and better.
  6. Damn, I just looked at that. I need to re-do it at a higher rate. That really looks like crap. ugh...
  7. Half cup old fashioned oats, a few sprinkles of salt, just enough water to make the oats float. Cook on 80 percent for 1:45 in classic Corel cereal bowl. Comes out perfect every day for the past, what, 10+ years? (of course then it needs a tsp of brown sugar, a splash of milk, and a T of flax oil)
  8. Nope. If it's good enough for Boonen, it's good enough for me. Besides, I have a "no throwing your hands out to catch yourself when you fall" policy. It saves on collar bones. (FWIW) I do have a "no helmet, no ride" policy though.
  9. I think it will work well once I figure out where to put it. There is still some rattling of course, but it's WAY better than mounting it on my helmet. I strapped my helmet down so hard I got a headache, and the video was still really bouncy. Too bad I like wearing a helmet; otherwise the head strap would probably be best! I mount it on the drop bars of my road bike. I have to switch it to recoding upside down, but that's easy enough.
  10. sigh... That's what I figured. Just for the hell of it, I may be a Fred and try it above. I'm too damned short for it to see over the handlebars! ugh....
  11. I finally tried mine, and I think I'm too short for the chesty. Don't people usually wear it a little lower on the chest? As in below the twins? Seems like above the twins, and it's more of a necky! Maybe that's just how I'll have to wear it. Long grass at back loop of Days River Trail
  12. Ya, what bone? We need details to determine the true severity of this event. Hope he heals well.
  13. We're pretty far north for peaches, but my husband likes to grow Red Haven peaches. It's usually touch-and-go, but he really loves those juicy peaches! Unfortunately, we had a super cold winter two winters ago and lost our trees. We have one replacement but are having a hell of a time finding a couple more. Don't know why it's so tough to find Red Haven peach trees this year!
  14. Made me smile. In fact I busted out laughing!!
  15. No miles at all today. Yesterday wore me out. Besides, HoSmudge is having a horrible time with his back; fingers crossed we don't end up in the ER again! If he's doing ok, I want to take the fatbike out for a bit tomorrow.

    I'm out.

I was impressed you went on as many days as you did. Good effort!
  17. I did the Menominee River Century Ride yesterday. 81 miles according to the cue sheet. My phone got hot in my jersey pocket, so my app gave me crazy numbers. We got a lot of rain during the night, but Marinette got a ton! A guy at one of the rest stops said he got 7" of rain at his house. So we saw a lot of this... Fortunately, the rain was done at about the time people were starting their rides. This group was in good spirits. The sun was out after a couple hours, and we were back to the usual gorgeous weather for this ride. I hope you enjoy this pic. A big bug was gnawing on my leg while I took the pic. Needless to say, I got moving! I hope you like this pic too just because the sky is so nice and blue!
  18. My daughter loves the movie.
  19. Man! Six days of riding, and this is the first we hear about it?? How were we supposed to cheer you on throughout your journey? l hope it was a good time.
  20. So, what's going to happen to the purple tent??? (Have a great last ride)
