Yup - use one every night to cross a busy street that has a non stop parade of cars.

I use something similar to this except I have another small pocket in the front. The belt under the leg stabilizes it nicely. called a holster bag. Hands free too. To add more load I have my ever present expandable camelbak.

yup several people on the site I moderate have used this with good results. We also have several registered couches there too for the Dirty Kids. I'm a registered couch surfer - Have had at least 5 people in my place at random times. Have a new kid coming in from Louisiana on Saturday. I've had mostly good results too. John was there 3 months but this was through the winter and he was hitchhiking so it wasn't feasible for him to leave as the winter was very bad this year. There are couch surfing sites on facebook too

hmm I don't care for it myself. Table tops/counters are meant for work space. Not a place to set things. My Aunt's family used to drive me up the wall. When I visited them or when we all met at my Uncle's cabin - the eating table became a hoard of crap. Cereal boxes, mail, stuff, books, loaves of bread, etc. To sit there and eat meant you had a 6" space in which to set the plate down. Her whole house was like that - you would walk sideways to get around stuff.
