    Titan

On my cycle earlier today passed this vintage bus parked by the side of the road advertising a local transport museum. Did some research online and found out it's a Titan RI that first saw service in December 1937 with the Dublin United Tramways Company. I remember jumping on and off in the '50s Brings back memories of going to school on my own and into town with my mother.
  3. We are being sold the idea that realty and virtual reality are the same, they aren't, it's the sizzle without the sausage.

  5. Stayed in one a couple of months ago for about five nights, it was fine but mightn't suit everyone. Some places they tend to be nosy and years ago they had a reputation for moral guardianship with pointed questions designed to find out if you were really married or not. Nowadays they can't afford to be so censorious, they'd have to turn nearly everyone away.

  8. My friend and I went down to visit another friend who moved to rural Ireland a couple of years ago for a cycling weekend. Brought our bikes on the train and cycled the last 17kms to his place. On Sunday the three of us went for a 68km cycle and then on Monday the three of us (rural friend had to go to Dublin to visit aunt in hospital) cycled to a different station 45kms to catch the train back to Dublin. Stopped at an organic centre for a tea/coffee The Cosy Corner bar Kiltyclogher Sitting on the Cosy corner Walking to a restaurant on Sunday evening Bikes on the train home

    We did it

Been checking out Oakridge on Wiki and see it's close to Coos Bay a port I called to once when I was a radio officer in the merchant navy/marine back in the 1970s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oakridge,_Oregon I was on a Canadian Pacific lumber ship trading between the west coast of Canada and the UK. We stopped there on the way down to Panama and the only thing I remember is being in a bar, a woman getting thrown out for using the gents and walking back to the ship later nearly being hit by the fuel cap that flew off a RV vehicle as it stopped at a red light. Picked it up and was able to tap on the window and hand it back to the owner. Funny how things stick in your mind. Later when passing San Diego the British captain became paranoid that the HK Chinese crew were plotting to mutiny and got me to contact the CG about 'a possible mutiny on board' which ended up with us doing an unscheduled stop in SD and getting a change of crew. A crazy trip and was glad to see the back of Canadian Pacific. That captain was a screwball. Remember in the ship's bar one time I expressed the opinion that Hugh Hefner was over compensating for his own sexual inadequacies and he nearly went berserk like it was his brother or something I was talking about.
