  5. The reason I started this post because @Further made the comment that he was amazed at the heavy manufacturing that is in my little corner of the world. When I was driving past Bucyrus now Caterpillar I started thinking. Some of the largest equipment in the world for the mining industry comes out of Wisconsin. The heavy duty trucks for the military is pumped out of a factory that's 45 miles from my house. I was interested in what industry is in your area, what are they known to produce. I worked for a company that only supplied about 15% of the mattress industry but we would make, assemble and ship 5 or 6,000 mattress a day....that works out to be around 1,700,000 springs a day.
  6. This bad boy is built by the Manitowoc crane company 23 miles north of me
  7. @Further got me wondering. Yesterday I was driving past Bucyrus (now Caterpillar) in Milwaukee and I was always amazed on what they manufactured and the Komatsu mining Corporation. They build some of the largest mining equipment in the world. My son did a internship at Ladish forging where they have the world's largest counterblow hammers in the world. You can be sitting a the tavern and feel the hammer working. Then you stop and think....the hammer is over a quarter mile away. https://www.tmj4.com/news/milwaukee-tonight/exploring-one-of-the-worlds-largest-counterblow-hammers-the-85-hammer-in-cudahy What really cool and amazing things built in your area.
