Nate Posted October 1, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2013 let me tell you about mosquitoes in Alaska. they are HUGE! It's like swatting Bullwinkle with wings on his back When you are outdoors, the mosquitoes will follow you (and any other large animal) like a cloud. We used to run across fields just to watch the swarm try and keep up. They also don't have any sense of being swatted. They're not like mosquitoes around here. You can swat herds of them. Alaska State Fish and Game sets a daily limit, but I forget what it is These big, slow moving, easy to catch mosquitoes are what birds will migrate thousands of miles to gorge themselves on in the summer so that big cloud of mosquitoes there is what sustains birds for thousands of miles
Square Wheels Posted October 1, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 1, 2013 I heard the rumors of the Alaskan mosquitoes. I went there once about 7 years ago in September. The weather was similar to hear, mostly in the 70's. We had no mosquitoes at all. Guess we got lucky.
