MickinMD ★ Posted August 28, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2019 A few days ago, I went on Walmart.com to check prices and availability for a post I made here in reference to refurbished computer prices. Ever since, on a lot news and other sites, I now see stuff like the ad below that's right in the middle of MY story list on finance.yahoo.com: I also buy running shoes on Amazon, Coffee from Peet's, etc. etc. and see ads for a while - mostly for stuff I already bought! It's one thing to show items I'm obviously interested in, but the ads are from websites I've already looked at and often already bought the stuff. I KNOW about this stuff! Oh well, I just wanted to bitch a little.
jsharr ★ Posted August 28, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 28, 2019 You would think with all the stuff I spew out that my ad feed would be full of bizarre products.
maddmaxx ★ Posted August 28, 2019 Share #3 Posted August 28, 2019 Try opt out. This is a site that asks the advertisers to remove the cookies from your machine that they have put there because of your shopping. They do it voluntarily by some industry standard and it works for about 99%. Of course as soon as you shop online again the cookies will return and in a couple of weeks you will have to do it over again. It takes about 2 minutes. http://optout.networkadvertising.org/?c=
